I like to think of myself as reasonably handy. Certain jobs, though, either require too expensive tools or expertise that is too hard to get. Chimney sweeping and chimney inspection fall into that category. I recently had the pleasure of having Devyn Haney inspect and sweep my house's chimney. He was professional, fast, and even put up with my overly friendly dog's need for constant attention. That's why I wanted to recommend to you that you try Haney's Services. I've seen how hard it is to find a chimney sweep in the East Mountains from people posting on Facebook how they struggle to find someone reliable to get the job done. Now that the chilly season is upon us, you should consider calling Haney's Services to have your chimney cleaned. It'll make cozying up to the fire cleaner and safer.

Annular Solar Eclipse

  • Saturday, October 14, 2023, 8:00 AM - 04:00 PM
North America will soon be treated to two major solar eclipses, when the Sun, Moon, and Earth align. On October 14, 2023, anyone under clear skies within a path that sweeps from Oregon to Texas and then through parts of Central and South America will see an annular ("ring") eclipse. Just six months later, on April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will sweep from Mexico to Texas to the Canadian Maritimes, plunging day into night and revealing the magnificent solar corona for anyone fortunate to be within the path of totality and under clear skies. Nearly everyone in North America will have a partial solar eclipse both days, weather permitting. Map courtesy Michael Zeiler, GreatAmericanEclipse.com. Glasses will be handed out at Santa Rosa Lake Visitor center to observe the solar eclipse on the 14th.
