On January 10, 2024, the Torrance County Commissioners addressed county-level appointments to various organizations, beginning with the county commission itself. Commissioner Kevin McCall nominated Commissioner Ryan Schwebach Schwebach to retain his seat as chairperson of the Torrance County Commissioners. Commissioner Sam Schropp nominated McCall to retain his seat as vice-chairperson of the county commission. The commissioners unanimously approved both nominations.

Commissioner Schwebach requested that he continue to hold the representative role for the Estancia Valley Economic Development Association (EVEDA) Executive Board and the Estancia Valley Solid Waste Authority Board of Directors. The other commissioners agreed, and Schwebach was reappointed to the two boards as requested.

Commissioner Schropp nominated Commissioner McCall as the representative to the Mid-Region Council of Governments, with County Manager Janice Barela as his alternate. The County Commissioners unanimously approved this appointment. The County Commissioners also appointed Barela as the county's representative on the New Mexico Counties Insurance Authority (NMCIA), with Deputy County Manager Tracy Sedillo as the alternate.
