Award winning author, Charlene Bell Dietz, who lives in the Manzano Mountains, will be speaking at The Shaffer Hotel on Saturday, March 4 at 2:00pm to help celebrate the centennial birthday of The Shaffer Hotel. Ms. Dietz’ mystery trilogy - The Flapper, The Scientist and the Saboteur; The Flapper, The Imposter, and the Stalker; and The Scientist, The Psychic, and the Nut - takes the reader through the life of a 1920s teenage flapper on into her fading, but outrageous senior years. Her newest novel, The Spinster, The Rebel, and the Governor, published in 2022, is set in the 1600s. Dietz will be discussing her writing process including the unexpected twists which demanded a complete change of story and plot in her newest book. She will read from one of her novels if time permits. Meet the author, get your book signed and help us celebrate 100 years of The Shaffer Hotel. Books will be available for purchase.
