World Migratory Bird Day Celebration

• World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) is a special day where we celebrate these special birds and learn how we can help to protect them! To celebrate WMBD, we invite you to join our park rangers and volunteers at the Quarai Unit on Saturday, May 10, at 9:30AM to learn about the migratory birds that make Salinas Pueblo Missions a stopping ground along their journey!
• Enjoy an introductory presentation to birds, bird identification, and their migration patterns.
• Take part in an introduction to birding, followed by a ranger-led hike through the Quarai Unit.
• Binoculars and bird guides will be available during the event for your use, as well as for purchase. And as giveaways, you will be able to grab posters, stickers, buttons, and birding journals for your future birding explorations.
• And, if you are an early riser, we invite you to join us for the Annual Bird Count at 7:30AM! Through the support of our volunteers, Salinas Pueblo Missions has kept an annual log of bird species seen at Quarai since 1998!
