• Come join us at Elephant Butte Lake State Park on Saturday, October 28th, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, for a family-friendly trunk or treat! Fun games, lots of candy, and a prize for the best-decorated trunk. Anyone is welcome to set up their own trunk display! The fun will be located by the boat ramp.

Guided Bird Walk

• Rio Grande Nature Center State Park, 2901 Candelaria Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. The Park’s Day-Use Fee is $3.00 per vehicle (exact cash or check). Friends of the RGNC and NM State Parks annual permit holders enter free with a valid permit displayed.
• Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars, insect repellent, and sunscreen as needed. Meet at the Candelaria Viewing Area (Northeast side of the parking lot).

Stories Under the Cottonwood Tree

• Rio Grande Nature Center State Park, 2901 Candelaria Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. Come hear stories, poems, and tunes in the Outdoor Classroom in the Native Plant Garden.
• This month, we will focus on legends about the Rio Grande and Sandhill Cranes. Intended for those aged 5 to 10 years old (accompanied by an adult). Aside from the Park Day-Use Fee, there is no additional charge for this program. The Park Day-Use Fee is $3.00 per vehicle (exact change or check) (Friends of the RGNC permit holders and NM State Parks annual permit holders enter free with valid permit displayed)
