Full-Time Retail Park Store Manager

Do you love national parks and enjoy leading a retail team? Western National Parks (WNP), a nonprofit partner of the National Park Service (NPS) and U.S. Forest Service, is seeking a Full-Time Retail Park Store Manager for Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument in Mountainair, NM.

As Store Manager, you’ll lead daily retail operations while creating welcoming, memorable experiences for park visitors. Store revenue supports education, research, park projects, and community engagement across more than 70 national park units in 12 western states.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations and provide exceptional visitor service.
• Manage inventory, merchandising, facilities, and store assets.
• Monitor sales, budgets, and financial performance.
• Conduct inventory counts and regular sales reporting.
• Partner with NPS and WNP staff to develop engaging educational products.
• Build positive relationships with park partners and represent WNP and NPS professionally.
• Drive as required to perform job duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Retail, POS, and supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid REAL ID driver’s license required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and professional business standards.
• Ability to pass an NPS background check and obtain required security clearance.
