The Watch Duty FireCAD automated service reported a brushfire at 2:47 PM MDT today, July 23, 2026, at 35 Griffin Road (35.024297, -106.11314), in Moriarty. Watch Duty reported the fire to be 1 acre in size, located on property near one of the City of Moriarty’s solar power farms.

First responders included units from Torrance County Fire and Rescue and Moriarty Fire and Rescue (both departments are reporting that the other is in charge of the fire, but this information was not provided by on-scene personnel, so deconfliction is to come). No information is currently available regarding the fire’s containment, and there is no information available on injuries or property damage at this time.
