Update regarding Estancia and Sunshine Laws

On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, the Mountainair Dispatch was contacted by Estancia Mayor Nathan Dial and Estancia Town Clerk Michelle Jones. Dial and Jones were gracious with respect to the article published on the Mountainair Dispatch, Did Estancia Trustees Violate Sunshine Laws and Plan to Misuse Town Funds?. They explained that, while the agenda for the August 07, 2023, public hearing was published in the documents section of the Estancia website, they acknowledged failing to include notice of the public hearing or its 6:00 PM start time. Jones and Dial explained that they would make sure the calendar would include notice of hearings and quorums going forward.
