Details: Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument hosts a free day of special programming celebrating the monument's fossil discoveries, including a varanopid — an early mammal relative that lived approximately 275 million years ago — on display daily at the visitor center. Programs include Junior Ranger Activities for children (9 AM – 4 PM), artist showcases by the park's 2024 Artists-in-Residence (9 AM – 4 PM), and a public presentation by NPS paleontologist Dr. Adam Marsh at the Manzano Mountain Art Council at 11 AM.
Admission is free.
