Something Major is Coming to Quarai: UNM's Premiere A Cappella Group

  • April 20, 2024, at 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM
Something Major A Cappella, The University of New Mexico's premiere performing a cappella group, will take the stage for two energetic performances -- a spectacular acoustic event in Quarai Mission and Convento!
With shows at 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, attendees of this family-friendly, all-ages event will enjoy a cappella pop hits from artists like Bruno Mars, 21 Pilots, Mary J. Blige, and more! Sponsored by the Friends of the Salinas Pueblo Missions, this FREE event is part of the group's ongoing commitment to providing education, recreation, and preservation events in partnership with Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument. Seating is limited. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Parking is located at the park.

Guided Bird Walk

  • Rio Grande Nature Center State Park, 2901 Candelaria Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. The Park’s Day-Use Fee is $3.00 per vehicle (exact cash or check). Friends of the RGNC and NM State Parks annual permit holders enter free with a valid permit displayed.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars, insect repellent, and sunscreen as needed. Meet at the Candelaria Viewing Area (Northeast side of the parking lot).

National Water Dance

  • Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Keshet Dance is excited to join the annual National Water Dance Projects! “Moving Forward Together,” here in the Southwest, speaks specifically to the denial of Navajo Nation water rights. This multidisciplinary showcase explores water as both sacred and essential, and delivers a powerful, inspirational experience. National Water Dance (NWD) is a biennial event which gathers dance teachers, practitioners, choreographers, and community members to take part in simultaneous dance across the nation.
