Moriarty swears in new municipal judge, two city councilors
The City of Moriarty formally welcomed new leadership during a swearing-in ceremony on December 22, 2025, administering oaths of office to a new municipal judge and two incoming city councilors.

During the ceremony, Robin Spaulding and Kenny Garcia were sworn in as members of the Moriarty City Council. Following their oaths, the councilors briefly addressed those in attendance. Spaulding said she was honored to serve and expressed enthusiasm about working collaboratively with fellow councilors and the mayor.
“I’m honored and excited for the future of the city and what we can do together,” Spaulding said.

Garcia also thanked supporters and acknowledged a recent personal loss, noting that his brother-in-law had passed away earlier in December.
“It’s a bittersweet moment,” Garcia said. “I have a great representation of family and friends, and I appreciate everybody. We’re going to do great things.”
The ceremony also included the swearing-in of Bobby Garcia as Moriarty’s new municipal judge. Garcia took the oath of office, pledging to uphold the law and impartially perform the duties of municipal judge.

Mayor Steve Anaya congratulated the newly sworn-in officials and thanked city staff, law enforcement, and community members for their continued service to the city.
The ceremony concluded with brief remarks, congratulations from city officials, and an opportunity for residents to visit with the city’s newly sworn-in leadership.
