During the public comment period of the County Commission Meeting that took place on January 10, 2024, Tracey Master appeared before the County Commissioners to announce her intention to run for county commission and to clarify what happened with her benefits while Torrance County's DWI Coordinator.

Master said she intended to run in the upcoming election for County Commissioner for the District Two seat. Ryan Schwebach currently occupies the District Two seat on the Torrance County Commission.

Master said she wanted to clarify the issues she complained about at the December 13, 2024 Torrance County Commissioners' regular meeting. Master said that her previous supervisor and the county's former financial director told her that her leave was supposed to be calculated at a different rate than the correct rate. Master said that she relied on this statement, along with the inaccurate rate, when she made the claim that she was not paid her full benefits. Master said that when her benefits were calculated based on her status as an appointed employee, she learned she had received proper benefits.
