In Memory of Pauline (“Polly”) Baca

Pauline Baca (Nana Polly, Nani, Gram), of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Friday, January 9th, 2026, after reaching the age of 89 years old. She died at home, peacefully, in her sleep.

Polly was born February 9th, 1936, in Tajique, NM, to Fernandez Sanchez and Natividad Griego. She was one of four children: brother Santos Sanchez, sister Magdalena (Nena) Pena, and sister Maria Rita Sanchez.

In 1952, she married the love of her life, Bonifacio (Boni). They lived together, almost inseparable, for nearly 68 years and raised seven children.

Mrs. Baca was a loving, strong, proud, and devoted wife and mother. She is loved and will be missed by many!

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bonifacio Baca; father, Fernandez Sanchez; mother, Natividad Griego; brother, Santos Sanchez; sister, Magdalena (Nena) Pena; sister, Maria Rita Sanchez; sister-in-law, Simplicia Blake; sister-in-law, Erlinda Guzman; son-in-law, Steve Ballejos Sr.; son-in-law, Nash Salas; nephew, Greg (Lolo) Moya; niece, Mary Luna; grandchild, Maria Anne Baca; and great-great-grandchild, Xander Gurule.

Polly is survived by:
