Autopsy Results in Albert Peña's case not expected until late April

The New Mexico Office of the Medical Examiner does not expect to complete the autopsy of Albert Peña until approximately April 28, 2026, roughly 90 days after his death, according to information provided to The Mountainair Dispatch.

While final autopsy results remain pending, Torrance County Sheriff's Office records indicate that Peña died from injuries sustained during a violent encounter. Officials have stated that a definitive cause and manner of death will not be formally released until the Office of the Medical Examiner completes the autopsy and associated testing.
