Local Participants in a National Protest

The Saturday, June 14, 2025, "No Kings" protest was alleged by data scientist G. Elliott Morris to be the largest protest in US history. Locally, the protests were smaller than in more populous areas, unsurprisingly. There were 18 such protests across the state of New Mexico.

At the Socorro No Kings event, residents of Torrance County participated in the protest, which appeared to have roughly 200 attendees. The protest initially took place in Socorro Plaza, off Court Street, and then moved to California Street, near the Socorro County Magistrate Court. The following photos document the protest.
