Promoted Content: Today's upcoming events post is starting off with a special event across Mountainair: the Mountainair Art Studio and Gallery Tour on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Come explore! Visitors will have a unique opportunity to see nine art studios throughout Mountainair, along with four art galleries. You'll not only be able to see the works these artists create but also how their creative process works.

Join park rangers at Quarai for a spectacular dark sky program! To kick off the evening, from 7:30 pm to 8:15 pm, enjoy a guided pueblo and mission program. You'll learn about the blending of cultures and the way they shaped central New Mexico for generations. Then, enjoy pristine dark sky viewing through telescopes, check out the dark sky photography station, and experience the awe and wonder of a pristine night sky. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and your spirit of discovery!

Celebrate our winged friends with us! Join park rangers and volunteers for World Migratory Bird Day at Quarai! There will be various activities happening throughout the day, including guided birding hikes using bird counting sheets, Jr. birder journals for young birders, a special presentation on insects and birds, and bird-themed arts and crafts. Make sure to wear comfy shoes, bring a lot of water, sun protection, and your "eagle" eyes to spot the birds in hiding!

Guided Bird Walk

- Rio Grande Nature Center State Park, 2901 Candelaria Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. The Park’s Day-Use Fee is $3.00 per vehicle (exact cash or check). Friends of the RGNC and NM State Parks annual permit holders enter free with a valid permit displayed.
