Salinas Pueblo Missions is hiring for a Tribal Communities Engagement Intern to join its Interpretation and Visitor Services Division Team from May through October 2026.
The Tribal Communities Engagement Intern will be hired through the Ancestral Lands Conservation Corps (ALCC) program of Conservation Legacy. The mission of ALCC is to "lead our nations back to cultural and ecological well-being." At Salinas, the Tribal Communities Engagement intern will:
- Develop hands-on interpretation and environmental education activities and online tools that incorporate the Tribal/Puebloan perspective.
- Brainstorm, create, and leverage new and existing Tribal Communities Partnerships.
- Foster professional development and life-long environmental stewardship.
- Identify career aspirations and explore fields of interest within the park, agency, and department.
- Work closely with the Interpretation and Visitor Services team and other park Divisions to learn about career fields and exchange ideas/perspectives on future career aspirations.
Minimum requirements for candidates include,
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
- At least 17 years of age.
- Be willing to undergo a background check upon hiring.
- Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Willing and able to represent Salinas Pueblo Missions in a professional, positive, and enthusiastic manner.
- Open to learning new things and working outside their comfort zone.
